Hi Kitts Creek Residents,

There are 2 very important events that are happening next week.

1. HOA Party: Steve has graciously planned a party in the Kitts Creek Clubhouse on Friday, Dec 16 6:30pm. It will be a catered event.

2. New Signage Public Hearing: This is also a reminder that on Tuesday, Dec 13, at 7:30pm, at town hall (100 Town Hall Dr) there will be a public hearing on the signage going in the back of the neighborhood by the new bridge connecting to Davis Drive. Kathy and I sent the email below before Thanksgiving. You may want to review the documents. We want a large 6 foot by 6 foot brick sign on both sides of the entrance/exit with light fixtures on top. Right now only a small column on both sides are approved. We want the big signs to let drivers coming over the Kitt Creek bridge (opening May 2012) that they are entering a neighborhood.

a. The town hall meeting starts at 6:30 pm. Public hearing is not likely to start till at least 7:30pm. This meeting is also the swearing in of the new town council members that were recently elected. Please remember that if you plan to speak, you need to sign-up at the computer. Even if you don’t speak, please attend the meeting, Kathy or Stefanie will ask homeowners in the audience for a show of hands who support the two, 6 foot by 6 foot brick signs.

b. If there is not enough parking in the Town Hall parking lot, you can also park across Town Hall Drive in the Indian Creek Park parking Lot. You can also park in the Chamber Parking lot. The new Fire Department also has some parking spaces closest to the Town Hall Building.

c. It is very important that we have a large presence at the meeting. The 6 foot by 6 foot brick sign is not a guarantee. One neighbor who lives by the proposed sign, objects to the larger sign and she may bring a strong presence to get her way. If a vote does not go our way, then we’re stuck with the 2 miniscule columns. If you cannot attend the public hearing, please send an email to the Town Council, towncouncil@townofmorrisville.org, with your concerns. The email below provides information that can help you with this email.

The meeting is at Town Council Meeting Room at 100 Town Hall Drive.

The location for the Thursday, Dec 1 meeting at 6:30pm has changed to Highcroft Elementary School Gymnasium, 5415 Highcroft Dr, Cary.

Due to unusually winter like weather, I am cancelling the pool party. I am going to plan a Halloween Party. I want to plan it for the Friday before Halloween. I have to see if the clubhouse is available. Any ideas-- comment on the events forum.

Hey,
The last day the pool will be open is Sunday, September 18.

Let’s do the pool party between 2:30pm and 6:30pm on Saturday, September 17. Bring your own picnic and paper products (plates, cups, napkins forks,knives,etc). If you want to bring something to share, I will have a table set-up by the clubhouse. Let’s eat between 5:00pm and 6:30pm.

Please bring your games and music and have fun.

No lifeguards will be on duty.

This summer will be the inaugural season of the Kitts Creek Swim Club.
The 5-week season will include stroke instruction, time trials and an intra-squad meet.
Information on plans to become a competitive Triangle Swim Association team, coaching for this and future seasons, volunteer requirements for a successful season and more will be presented at this meeting.

Kitts Creek Swim Club is managed by a volunteer board of Kitts Creek Residents with input from the guardians of the swim club members. The Swim Club is sanctioned by the Kitts Creek Homeowners Association and sponsored in part by Preston Development Company.
